About Us
Welcome to Little Rustic Farm located in Sardis, Al. We are a first generation farm family where we raise Registered Texas Longhorns, German Shorthair Pointers, Nigerian Dwarf goats, and host small farm parties. Our story began when our oldest daughter was two years old. She became obsessed with chickens that her grandparents had obtained which lead to us getting chickens. Well, the rest is history. We sat down one night and put a plan together to finish remodeling our first house in hopes we could use the profited money for a down payment on some land. We had always had a dream of owning land and animals since we were dating in high school. We loved the thought of raising our kids up in the farm life.
We bought our little slice of 20 acres of Heaven on Earth in the summer of ’21. After that we quickly added more dogs, chickens, pigs, and goats. As we were adding animals to our place, we came to the decision of what cattle to buy. After some research, we had almost come to the decision of South Poll cattle. We wanted something that could handle our heat and humidity, and be fairly low maintenance. In the summer of ’23, we got a call from my brother in law one day. He told us that his vet in Auburn had two Texas Longhorn three in one deals, and his pastures needed a break. We did some more research and decided that these cattle were exactly what we are after. An added bonus was their beautiful horns, diverse colors, and majestic nature that sets them apart from other cattle. Since then we have learned so much and are very excited about our future in this industry.
